Dr. Rizwi completed five years of medical education at Dow University of Health Sciences, followed by an internship at St. Francis Hospital in Trenton, New Jersey. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Hahnemann University Hospital, serving his final year as Chief Resident, where he taught residents and medical students from Hahnemann Medical College and the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Rizwi pursued fellowship training in Pulmonary Diseases at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. His growing interest in the rapidly evolving field of cardiovascular medicine led him to complete additional fellowship training in Cardiovascular Diseases at Mount Sinai Medical Center and the Milwaukee Heart Institute in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He later established his cardiology practice in Sebastian, Florida, where he served as Chairman of the Cardiopulmonary Division and subsequently Chairman of the Department of Medicine. Dr. Rizwi was elected Chief of Medical Staff at Sebastian River Medical Center, a role he held for eight years.

Dr. Rizwi was the first cardiologist in Indian River and surrounding counties to administer thrombolytic (“clot-buster”) therapy with streptokinase for heart attack patients on an experimental basis, with informed patient consent, prior to FDA approval. This pioneering work helped save lives and reduce long-term heart damage.

Dr. Rizwi is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He has joined Stuart Cardiology, now Florida Cardiovascular Partners, where he utilizes the latest state-of-the-art cardiac diagnostic technology.
